Casual Games Section
We now have games reviewed in each section and we will continue
to add more.
We also have games straight from Reflexive (GameCenterSolution)
in our section labeled "SLMG/GameCenterSolution Joint Site" Links.
This link gives access to all the games that Reflexive sells. Almost
all of our games from Reflexive/GameCenterSolution have recently had
their prices reduced from $19.99 to $9.99 or $6.99. These price
reductions are due both to an attempt to help people during this
economic downturn and because Game Center Solution is able to get
great prices on downloadable video games!
We now have five fully reviewed games in our Time Sphere section
(Strategy games) and they have several additional games attached to
their main page. These other games are usually very similar to the
main reviewed game, but not quite as good in our estimation. We also
have added reviews to the other sections (Energy, Thought & Matter)
with more games coming soon as well.
Energy, Thought, Time and Matter?
Yes -- Energy, Thought, Time and Matter. No, you didn't
stumble into the wrong place. It's our way of classifying the
different types of videogames.
What's wrong with the old way? What's wrong with
classifying a game as a FPS (First Person Shooter) or a TBS, RPG,
Seek n' Find, Match 3? Well, there's nothing wrong with that
and we will continue to use those classifications here. We just
thought that it may help to add an extra layer of classification --
not to make things more complicated, God knows things are
complicated enough in this industry -- hopefully, once people get
acclimated to our system it will bring clarity and simplicty to our
guests.
So, why do we have to add an extra layer to create more simplicity?
That's an excellent question. The basic idea here is that many of these game
genres share some commonalities -- the people who like puzzle games are also
likely to appreciate Match 3's or Seek n' Finds. All these games basically
stretch your mind and belong in the Thought realm -- at least that's the
theory behind our new classification system.
The Energy Realm would collect genres such as FPS, combat games, anything
that values fast twitch action and quick reactions among other things.
The Time Realm would focus on games that emphasize a broad look at history,
the sweeping epic dramas that focus more on how empires are built than what
happens to a particular person or people's feelings. The strategy games tend
to fall into this area and they are a personal favorite of mine. They are what
I know best.
The Matter Realm focuses on our material world, the people, buildings and
institutions that make our world (or a past or future world) run. Games like
the "Sims" types of games and some RPG games would fit into this realm.
I hope we haven't shocked your system with too much wierdness so far. If you
have any questions just email me.
Francisco.
